Project Brief
Create a compelling project and solution, addressing one or more of the following wellness aspects: physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, environmental, and occupational. The design should be unified across the interior, industrial, and digital experience.
This project was a collaborative effort between myself (digital design student), an interior design student, and an industrial design student.
Wellness Problem
Occupational Wellness
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a lot of people to work from home. Switching to remote workplace was a necessity, but ended up being a favorable work model due to the cost savings and time saved during commutes. However, people may face a variety of distractions while working from home. People are hesitant in returning to offices due to the risk of getting sick. Coworking spaces have become a place to work for displaced workers who crave more of a work/home separation.
CoSpaces: A Coworking Space of the Future
Mission
CoSpaces aims to provide a safe workspace to its community. Ensuring that all occupants feel safe, while still being in a workspace that feels somewhat “normal”. Extending the coworking community beyond the physical space into the virtual.
User Persona
"Will freelancers trade the comfort of their home for a . . . coworking space?
" We're creatures who want to be surrounded by people."
- Nick Jones Founder of Soho House
User Journey Map
Abigail needs a space that is safe to use during the pandemic. She wants the space to also provide virtual amenities like workshops, podcasts, or an online community. While searching she finds a CoSpaces location near her home. She decides to book a individual room at the coworking space. She sees that they require a health check-in before occupants enter the space and that they utilize contact tracing to ensure occupant safety. She loves that everything for the coworking space is accessible from her phone. She can access the space and her room by scanning her member pass at designated kiosks to minimize in-person contact and even leave a review of her experience.

Contact Tracing
Each member has a unique secure code stored in the CoSpaces database. If a member at CoSpaces tests positive for COVID-19, then their unique code is shared with individuals who have come in contact and they are notified to quarantine. After confirming a booking and prior to entering the space, occupants are required to fill out a health check-in to determine their health.
